Prestige: what it is and what we actually know
Updated Sep 11, 2026v1.0.1Reported1 min read
Prestige is the endgame layer of the progression system — and right now it's also the system's biggest open question, because its challenges were officially disabled on September 10, 2026 while a bug is investigated. This page separates what's confirmed from what's circulating.
Confirmed
- Prestige exists as part of the progression system alongside the four XP tracks.
- Prestige challenges exist — we know because the developers named them specifically when disabling them.
- They're currently off, server-side, for everyone, pending a patch. Details: Prestige challenges disabled.
Reported
- Prestige-tier rewards include high-end cosmetics — the Scorched Michael skin is the most-cited candidate, though reports conflict on whether it's Prestige-locked. Reported
- Prestige sits after substantial track leveling — an opt-in for maxed or near-maxed players, in line with the genre convention. Reported
Unknown
The questions that matter, none of which have credible answers yet:
- Does Prestiging reset anything (levels? perks? weapon tracks?), or is it purely additive?
- How many Prestige tiers exist?
- What exactly the disabled challenges reward.
What to do meanwhile
Nothing special — that's the honest advice. XP tracks and regular challenges progress normally, and no evidence suggests pre-Prestige grinding is wasted. When the patch re-enables the system, this page and the patch tracker will be updated the same day.
