How Michael wins: the 3,000-point threshold

Updated Sep 11, 2026v1.0.1Reported1 min read

Michael doesn't win by emptying the lobby — he wins by scoring more than 3,000 points, and the scoring rules reshape how both sides should play the clock. All of this is from the most systematic tutorial source we track, labeled reported until a second source confirms the numbers. Reported

The scoring rules

  • Michael earns points per resident killed — with Special Targets (the gold dots) worth the most.
  • He loses points for residents he fails to kill — every evacuation is a deduction, not just a denial.
  • Cops are worth only a small amount — and here's the trap: dead players who keep respawning into a lost endgame are feeding him a stream of small kills. Sometimes the right move is to stop returning (see coming back).
  • The match runs on a countdown timer (players call out 3 minutes / 30 seconds), and the result screen distinguishes degrees — a narrow civilian win reads differently from a rout.

What it means for Michael

Residents are the scoreboard; players are the obstacle. Killing all four heroes while ten residents escape is a loss with good highlights. The point math backs the opening plan: stalk and kill NPCs and gold targets early, deny the exits late — and note that Michael can only leave the map once his objectives are complete; leaving early scores poorly. What it means for civilians

Every resident out is points removed from him — the win condition and the denial condition are the same action. Late in a losing match, denial is still scoring: hiding the last residents well (see hidden residents) taxes his total even when evacuation is gone.
