How to arrest Michael Myers

Updated Sep 11, 2026v1.0.1Verified2 min read

Michael cannot be killed — arrest is the only removal, and it's the game's most misunderstood system. The corrected version, from footage of successful arrests: civilians can never detain him. Only police officers and Dr. Loomis can. Your hero's job is to create the down; a badge finishes it.

The arrest, step by step

  1. Get police into the match. Phone calls or the flare-gun trick fill the three-badge police meter — see the police meter. No cops (or Loomis), no arrest, ever.

  2. Put him on the ground. Knockdowns come from heavy melee (a Capability-9 swing can do it in one), a clean rifle headshot, or sustained group pressure under lights.

  3. Pin him if you can. The Fragile Hourglass thrown at the downed Michael strips his ability to stand for a long stretch — the item that turns arrests from luck into a plan.

  4. Fill the arrest meter. A handcuff icon/meter fills while officers stay close to the downed Michael and keep hitting him — and it decays when they back off. You need multiple officers; one cop alone almost never fills it (and crowded officers literally stumble over each other).

  5. Blind him through the window. Flare gun, flashlight, firecrackers during the down keep him from recovering control of the moment.

The core tension

Standing next to a downed Michael is how you die — he can execute from the ground. The meter demands closeness; his kit punishes it. That contradiction is the whole drama of the mechanic, and it's why the hourglass pin matters so much.

What an arrest is worth

Minutes of a Michael-free map: move Special Targets, open exits, evacuate in bulk. In campaign play, being cuffed outright ends the chapter — he's loaded into a cruiser.
