Does it earn a slot? If the gate is your route, it IS the route. The electric fuse powers the exit gate — a slow install, paired with bolt cutters or a key for the padlock — and it's reported as the rarest routine item in the game.
The finding trick
The fuse breaks the looting rule: it's often obtained by talking to residents rather than searching drawers. Reported That folds it into the opening playbook beautifully — the proximity sweep and warning conversations you're doing anyway are also your fuse hunt. Escorts find fuses; looters find everything else.
The install
Slow, stationary, interruptible — classic prep-role work. Two mitigations: interrupted objectives retain progress (leave and return beats dying at the box), and fear is the usual interrupter, so install with a spotter when Michael's near. Reported
Notes
If the gate isn't the plan, hand the fuse to whoever's closest to it anyway — routes change when exits hit capacity, and a banked fuse is a plan B nobody has to loot for.
