Does it earn a slot? Honestly: nobody knows. The Brass Lantern is the game's most poorly communicated item — three sources, three incompatible accounts, and no on-screen text settling it. What every account agrees on: it's activated, it has a duration that expires, and it slows your movement while carried or active. Everything else is contested.
What to do with one
If you find it: test it deliberately and tell us what you see (with a clip, via the contact page) — this is the single most valuable open question in the item catalogue. If you're optimizing to win instead of to science: the slot math currently says leave it, because the confirmed costs (a slot, a movement penalty, a timer) are real and the benefit is a rumor with three faces.
Spawning
Relic-tier: chance-based at semi-known spots, per rare item spawns.
