Two flavors of the same jank family are on record: civilians suddenly unable to move with no visible cause, and Michael himself getting stuck on geometry. There's also a spawn-position variant — Michael spawning close enough to the map edge that an objective becomes unusable. All observed in footage; none officially addressed yet.
Before calling it the bug
Check you're not in a legitimate lock. Claiming a perk card locks movement (the classic "why can't I move" moment — see skill checks & minigames), and fear interrupts can feel like freezes.
Try the interaction keys. If a prompt state got stuck, entering and exiting any nearby interaction sometimes clears it. Unverified
Dive a window if one's near. A forced movement animation is the community's classic unstick attempt — costs a little health, sometimes beats standing statue. Unverified
Accept the death if nothing works. You return to spectator tools, respawn routes, and usefulness. A frozen hero helps nobody, and quitting after death still pays your XP at match end. Reported
Related oddities on file
The same jank family includes a visual bug showing a resident somewhere they weren't, and abrupt unexplained darkness after a window dive — worth knowing so you don't re-litigate your monitor settings mid-match. All reported, all unpatched, all tracked on the known-issues board.
