Killer Sense is the stalk system's delivery mechanism: middle mouse switches Michael to first person, and watching a civilian builds Stalk on that specific person — three levels, applied per target, not globally. The trick the game never mentions: right click zooms while stalking, making the stalk markers dramatically easier to hit. It's the single biggest skill unlock for playing Michael.
What Stalk does to a target
- Level 3 makes them far easier to kill, and they get scared passively — fear that interrupts their skill checks without you present.
- High stalk can reportedly stun a civilian outright. Reported
- They're not blind to it: civilians get an explicit "detected" warning state, so a long gaze is a conversation, not a secret. Reported
- Bonus intel: a resident following a player has their aura revealed to you — escort groups glow. Reported
The catch: decay
Stalk decays over time, and some traits accelerate it (Jennifer's Ghost adds +10% decay; her Dreamer trait makes warned residents 60% harder to stalk in the first place). Stalk is perishable — build it on people you intend to spend soon, and rebuild between hunts.
Why it's worth the time
Fully-stalked kills and context executions generate more Bloodthirst than plain violence — the two-meter economy is laid out in Bloodthirst & Stalk explained. And the gaze doubles as your intelligence tool: routines, positions, and who's carrying what, all from a dark window.
If you're a civilian
Starve the meter: break sightlines, keep moving, keep residents warned (warned NPCs resist), and treat the "detected" warning as the fire alarm it is — that feeling of being watched is a mechanic, and it's telling you to relocate.
