Does it earn a slot? It earns a drink on pickup, and sometimes the slot too. Pops — the soda cans scattered through Haddonfield's kitchens — grant reduced stamina consumption, and multiple sources independently rate it the best consumable in the game. No downside, no wobble, just a longer sprint when the sprint matters.
Why stamina is the stat
Michael is slow; your stamina bar is the entire reason that matters. Athleticism sets the bar, exhaustion penalties punish its bottom, and everything about surviving a commit — the run to light, the escort dash, the window dive exit — spends it. Soda buys margin on all of it. (The perk version, Unwinded at −15% all stamina use, is rated among the game's best for the same reason.)
Usage notes
- Drink on pickup when found mid-route — the effect working while you loot beats it waiting in a slot. Duration hasn't been read precisely.
- Low-Athleticism heroes (Eric, Annie) get the most per can; Jennifer turns it into comedy.
- Versus beer: soda is the drink with no bill. Unless you're Bob, it's not close.
